So as you probably know, the Bluelight server is being whack and even had the audacity to crash and leave us all jittery and jonesin' for a couple days there, and it SUCKED ASS!
Not that I'm blaming Jase or Skydancer naturally -- we're getting mad hits these days and it's totally understandable and all. But I digress.
All these errors are making me nervous that it's gunna crash again soon... I'm sure you've all seen that annoying as hell Error 503 Service Unavailable thing about a zillion times by now.
Last time it crashed I was pathetic enough to scour my saved emails for bluelight addresses so I could still chatter and whatnot, but now I got this idea (lightbulbgoesting!). I took the liberty to set up a mailing list people can use if they like, as a substitute when the site is down. Checkit:

I hope I'm not stepping on any admins toes by doing this... I just miss everybody too much when I can't get the site to load. But I'll freely hand over my moderator status to whoever would be better suited for the task. I don't care about running things in the slightest; I just wanna be able to reach everybody whenever I damn well please.

Just to clear it all up... Analplay.net is my domain. It is NOT a porn site. It does contain Pornographic photos, but is a site with information on Anal Sex. So if you click on the Banner you will go right past the main site, and to the chat login page....

Hey Ashke, my name is Renee, I had to reregister again today, that totally sucks! Anyways, now I have to use my nickname, Renee backwards, EENER. You are so right about how addicted we get when we want to get into bluelight whenever we want but because of the stupid computer we get booted out alot and it pisses me off! I will check out you list, thanks, Renee
 
The room is cool and chat is definately needed, however, being java and all makes it a bit slower than it could be, plus the firewall problems being experienced by other users. Perhaps an IRC room would be in order?

I just signed up for the onelist alternate bluelight thing but I think we should all use this board as much as it will allow us. It is a good feeling having an back up plan though, just in case.

2) i think it REALLY is time for an IRC channel....
can someone set one up? throw a bot in the room... and tell us which server it's on?
irc.prison.net is usually pretty decent....so is irc.emory.edu and irc.concentric.net
i'll be back on irc shortly...as soon as my damn cable modem gets installed =/

Onelist is super simple. Pleaseplease go join the list, coz I can't chat at work, nor can I IRC -- at work OR home. But I can email. We all can email! So join the list dammit!
Simple wayeasy steps if you've never used Onelist before:
1.) Open browser, copy this URL, go here:
http://www.onelist.com/register?referer=%2Fsubscribe%2Fnewbluelight
2.) Click the big grey button that sez JOIN COMMUNITY.
3.) Fill out the form. Doesn't hafta be valid info cept for email addy I don't think.
4.) Steps after that are pretty simple... It takes like a whole five minutes topz.

Hey guys.... you want IRC, you got it. Last night shiney and I were talking about the chat room, and if you could use an IRC client on it.... I didn't think you could. But she tried... and low and belhold it worked.....
This will work out good I think, because you can login using like mIRC or BitchX and for the peeps out there who aren't sure what IRC means, well you can use the regualar link.
For those of you who want to IRC it.... Your server will be chat.chatspace.com and you need to join #Bluelight , I made it invisible so it wont show on the channel list....

Damn...I would be happy (and throw in a bean or two) if someone would tell me how to get into the bluelight chat room. I've never used IRC because its a pain getting it set up for MACS (which I love).
