Approximate relationship between volume and weight of intact bud

I'm sure this topic has come up before but I couldn't find anything in searching. My question is what size glass jar does, say 1 oz., of bud typically take up? Obviously this would vary a lot depending on the size and density of the buds but I'm just looking for your personal experiences in the typical relationship between bud volume and weight. I'm looking to store a quarter pound in several glass jars and want to know the ideal number and size jars to do this. Thank you.

1 oz of bud is typically sold in a single 17 oz container in most recreation stores in CO.


If you are thinking of doing long term storage (6+ months), consider a vacuum sealed container.
