An interview with Rick Doblin founder of M.A.P.S.

The Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies is currently funding human research on MDMA, LSD, Psilocybin, and other psychedelics legally. In this interview Rick talks about suing the D.E.A. (and winning), his personal experiences with psychedelics, and learning about working with the honest parts of the goverment legally to improve peoples lives with psychedelics.

I imagine, Ricks story is as much about him learning ways he could work with the honest parts of the goverment as his story is about the goverment accepting the will of the people and serving the will of the people. The entire drug war is more complicated. The goverment so strongly influences the opinion of citizens now the predominating opinions, on more issues than not, is the governments opinions. Some goverment agencies have been lying and manipulating so long the past transgressions justify even worse things. They continue down illegal and amoral paths attempting (irrationally) to escape the consequences of the past transgressions.

Government employees are citizens and sometimes they do extend the will of the people, in this case they have. Rick, M.A.P.S., and N.O.R.M.L. prove there are parts of society considering progressive and rational drug policy.
