yes, this is real!! I was a HUGE fan of the book by the same name! I was a bit worried that the book would ham it up, but alas, it was streamlined, well-written, and shockingly historically accurate

in this movie slated to hit the silver screen in late June this year (2012), Tim Burton produces and Benjamin Walker stars as Lincoln as Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim VS THE WORLD) is beside him as the First Lady. this is a great story, again riddled with historical facts, that paints Lincoln as one of the best vampire hunters in a New World infested with blood-sucking vampires!

the story essentially says that there was a HUGE underlying factor in the Civil War; not only was this a war fought over slavery/federal government... but a war that was fought due to vampirism! John Wilkes Booth is not simply just a bad guy, but perhaps an even badder guy than the history books have told us ;)

I am expecting BIG things to come out of this one. it will be perhaps my most anticipated movie this summer. I can expect GREAT things with Tim Burton producing and that stellar cast lined up!!

This by far one of the weirdest premises for a film I have ever come across. And for that reason alone I can't wait to see it ;)

1/5

the first ten minutes sets up this predictable cliche-fest for the entire rest of the runtime. i swear, a computer must have written this.

I'm generous enough to give a 3, though it's more like a 2.5 in my book. Not awful, but--as pretty much every critic said--it takes itself far too seriously for so ridiculous a premise. It could have really used the cheekiness of Modern Vampires, to say nothing of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

yeah it would have been heaps better as a comedy

man the movie sucked, the book was alright though. totally fucked up the movie with inconsistencies
