A reliable method for reagent testing gel tabs?

I have run into gel tabs as of recently and with my very limited experience with psychedelics I am very suspicious of them. I have reagent tested one of the tabs but since the drug is locked into this hard glycerol like substance I have not been able to get a definitive result from the tests.

So I have a couple questions. Can you get conclusive results from a gel tab or will the glycerin skew results? And if the glycerin is a problem is there a simple method of removing the glycerin for testing purposes?

It is just gelatin, if you are testing for drugs such as LSD and research chemicals which are not LSD, if those are in it they will show up.

You could melt one into water and test it that way. Or send it into a lab to get tested.

Yes, the gel will soften enough from the reagent. Just let it sit on the tab for at least an hour and check for color change. It will/may happen more slowly than blotter - but the reagent will do its thing. Mmmm geltabs!
