Poetry a blind reflection

my mind is a mangled mess
of twisted trauma and shame

distracting myself from myself
proves increasingly difficult​

as time goes on, the void grows
more desperate & lonely​

That's nice of you to say, @Mysterier (your username sounds a bit like that superhero from Spiderman, Mysterio... no offense).

I'm actually a published writer but I haven't attempted to write anything (for publication or for myself) for many years. This poem took me a couple of minutes. It is the first time in many years I've attempted to construct something that has (any) artistic value with words.

I got into a real creative slump after my marriage collapsed, but that was over 10 years ago and I'm starting to emerge now.

I have never really applied myself.
