Hi,I've recently been rejected by a mmt program(no admission)As I type right now I'm on 600mg dxm.

I don't understand why this stuff helps with opiate withdrawl but it does,my concern is how bad dxm is on the internal organs

how many brain cells am I cooking?,right at the moment the burn is starting to kick in,next will come the histamine aggrivation then I'll parachute down to where I think might be a safe place to be getting relief from pain and depression

Take a benadryl for the burning itch. In my opinion its not really that harsh on the body. I have used dxm to get through wd before and it worked. Also there is no evidence that truly states that dxm causes any brain damage.

thanks for the affirmation,I usually just wait a while to see if the burn goes away on its own,if not then benedyrl

i always take one before and have a zero burning itch which feels nice.

i did try dxm polisterix (pronouced right?) a year back withl liltte success

but about 5 week back i tried robotissun, the stuiff was nasty, minimum high and brung havoc upon my stomach, i dont exactly know how bad it was but shit stunk for ages. never again in the name of ''curiosity and experimentation'' will i try dxm, stick to acid .

OP, its very similar to an opiate in molecular form I believe. Its sure its like a drop of water in the pond, do it too much and you fuck up your entire pond, but a little of anything will change your body.

Well said^

DXM is actually pretty safe, disregard the rumors and do some research yourself OP.

My main concern with DXM is thats its mostly available as hydrobromide (atleast in germany). If you do that on a regular basis you might get Bromism

I just moved to a new town and dont have any connects. So, I have resorted to using DXM on a regular, almost daily, basis at levels that range from 450mg to 900mg. I have never driven or done physical activity during the peak effects, but have while coming up and coming down. I felt that I had a better focus while driving during the onset or come down of a DXM experience. Everything seemed to move slower, but I was normal speed. Also during the onset or comedown I have lifted weights. I use low weight doing a lot of reps. I noticed that the disassociation caused by DXM allowed me to exert myself without feeling the negative effects. It did not make me stronger or have more endurance, but it did lessen the "burn" felt during the end part of weight lifting when one would usually feel weak and a little pained. I thought this was interesting, but dont really have anything to do with this new found use for DXM. Just wanted to hear what you all thought on the subject. Any similar experiences or scientific facts about what might be occurring would be greatly appreciated.

I started a thread w/ this Question/Statement and it was promptly closed. I'm not positive this is the correct place for this post and don't mean to step on any toes. Forgive me if I do.

I've lifted a few weights on DXM (nothing crazy just some curls and tricep extensions) and had the same experience. Kinda makes me impervious to pain.

That's super dangerous though, you can easily hurt yourself by not having proper connection to your body.

I would also say using DXM daily is a really bad idea, it will be fine for a while but you will hit a brick wall of tolerance eventually and for alot of people once that happens it never goes away.

I used to really enjoy DXM, used to be have such awesome effects now it just makes me feel empty, cold, and confused. The magic is completely gone and I'll try it again every few months, and its stays like that.

I've heard about this loss of magic from several sources now. I have not experienced this with DXM, but have with MDMA.

I think the main reason DXM is bad for you is because you have to chug an entire bottle of cough syrup to get to it.

I don't mean to spoil your fun, but it would be in your best interest to drastically cut back on your use of DXM. Using everyday will no doubt result in negative consequences down the road.

Check out the discussion here regarding a study demonstrating that chronic ketamine use results in impaired cognition and reduced brain matter in the frontal cortex. The same is likely true with other NMDA antagonists, including DXM and PCP. Occasional use (1-2 times per month) does not appear to have the same effect.

There are better strategies for treating depression. Have you tried getting help?

Using DXM too much though can be bad on the heart. My friend "O" used to take the shit a couple times a week/month and one day while on a 5 oz of delsym his heart stopped and he was rushed to the er. He was revived thankfully and until recently his heart was only 30 percent. DONT OVERDUE THAT SHIT MAN.

I've heard two former addicts report the same effect of stomach ulcers so severe as to induce vomiting from the pain. Is that the chemical DXM itself though? Unlikely.

I have never seen my physical form appear so drastically altered on any substance or cocktail of drugs I have ever been on than I have with DXM. There was noticeable perspiration, eye puffiness/redness/pupil dilation, pale as a ghost, etc... it was obvious I was on something and there was no chance I could ever get away with it despite my several attempts to hide my use/addiction at the time from my parents. This makes me wager it does have some effects on the body based on my superficial appearance alone that aren't positive ones and are neutral at best, so to speak.

Oh no, when you take DXM the colour drains from your face, your pupils dilate, you look like a fucking zombie almost. I get the same effect from MXE. Makes me lol.

I once dexed in my parents house and was seen going from my room to the bathroom to vomit, I just told them I was sick, they believed me.

DXM in the form of those gelcaps isn't that hard on the body. The syrups, with the thickening agents and sugar and other ingredients can certainly strain the kidneys and liver. But the gelcaps are relatively harmless. The whole DXM bodyload thing is primarily a result of the physical feeling one gets when being anesthetized. If you dose wrong, or go too high, yeah, you're gonna feel it for sure hehe.

whats this supposed to mean exactly? are you talking about that pins and needles sensation? i don't find that too pleasant myself

It means that people tend to overreact to the feeling of anesthesia if they aren't familiar with it. DXM in high doses anesthetizes the body. It can be very unpleasant and cause panic if a person isn't familiar with it. It's what makes people talk about feeling like they were dying and so forth. It happens at higher doses, not at low doses, or if there are enzyme issues in the user.

However, the effect isn't particularly harmful, it's just a bit alarming for some.

DXM itself is not really a dissociative; it is a very potent serotonin / norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. The demethylated metabolite DXO is responsible for the dissociative action of DXM and is produced by CYP2D6.

The levels of serotonin reuptake inhibition produced by an ordinary dose of DXM are actually enough to cause some toxicity concerns, and so taking DXM by a parenteral route or in combination with a CYP inhibitor can lead to serious problems.

Since both elevated serotonin and NMDA antagonism lead to hyperthermia, DXM is an especially potent inducer of such. Kind of a nasty combination.
