it's a cause-and-effect thing.

tolerance'll go away only for as long as you're not habitually smoking weed.

If you dont smoke for about a month- You will get so baked. Tolerence builds up for weed just like any other drug

i try to take breaks but i can never leave the weed try to keep it to mid days to nights during the week and all day whenever wherever on the weekends cept the days i have work i keep a small toke b4 work and during lunch and i blaze out fat bowls in my bong after hehehehe so much fun i love pot

but idk about tollerance i notice you get higher the first time of the day or after a few days breaks but i always enjoy to smoke a few bowls to blunts to bong shacks so i always get high never not get high unless im smoking the last of my stash and its the next days haha lil bowl hitters.

to me it always feels like everytime i take a break the first smoke is amazing but my tolerance comes back faster each time.

I might have some knowledge of the subject

weed smoker for 6 years... i'm on probation for a really long time.... I cheat the system by smoking on and off during the month.. i either get tested once or twice in the month by my PO so it really all depends...

Yeah it's like playing russian roulette.

I went 5 years without taking a break longer than 1 month if i recall correctly. Then after I got on probation i started taking regular breaks, I don't even consider myself a real smoker anymore.

honestly, the longest i've gone without smoking weed on probation has probably been around 6 weeks (whoo!) ... and tolerance works like this. People ask if they will ever be as high as their first time...

My answer is No. Weed was new to you.. kinda lik the first time you ever roll or trip or something. there's just something about that "newness" that you wont ever get back.

Needless to say. I can take a hit off a blunt of "dro" or high quality bud, and be BLAZEd.. like im talking full on munchies and shit.. even without smoking for just something around 3 or 4 weeks.

The reason that your tolerance goes up is becasue. It's not like when you first started smoking, when you got high you stopped. (at least for me)

I have really nice friends and they always wanna smoke me down FAT whenever I am able to smoke.. ( i know they're super nice)... So the first day i get back, I'll get smoked up on like something rediculous like 8 blunts or something.

I am straight up STUPID... but i love every moment of it... I feel that there reaches a point tho.. a ceiling to the high that Once i hit it, I don't get any higher.

After smoking 8 blunts the first day back after a 4 week break. I get high, pass out, and wake up STILL blazed. Which is extremely nice lol.

So my tolerance sky rockets (as well as anyones who takes a break) because most likely you are either USED TO smoking your old amounts of weed, or smoking with people with rediculous tolerance.

If you just smoked like hitters after a month break, i guarentee your tolerance would stil be low after like a month or two... It's just how you decide to use/abuse your low tolerance.

I'm at 3 weeks clean right now... Smoke day is coming. soon I'm happy.

let's say, on a scale of 1-10, smoking all day everyday for a week gives me a tolerance of 10.

in general, i would say that waiting until night-time to smoke gets me down to 4.

going a full day off probably knocks it down to about 2.

anything after two or three days would put me at a 1, which doesn't change much whether it's a week or a month or a year.

^ highly disagree with this post.

wow... seriously lol.. I thought the same thing until i took a longer break than fucking 2 or 3 days.

try not smoking for 2 weeks then come back to me... it would be like a -3 on your scale.

Tolerence builds up for weed just like any other drug

hm i've always wondered how that works with weed...obviously THC builds up in your system, but i don't know if that causes actual physical tolerance. i think it's mostly a mental tolerance.

i can't count how many times i've smoked and questioned whether i was high or not..then i'd look in the mirror and my eyes were majorly slanted and blood shot...smoking all the time i always felt burnt out and it became hard to distinguish sobriety from being high. then when you take a long break and come back to it it's a shock because you're more used to being sober than high all the time and it makes you feel fucked up again rather than normal.

i am on a break right now mintaly im fine but i sweat alot at night i wana hury up and get a job wile im still motovated - cause wen i work and keep myself busy im ok but wen im sitting around i gotta force myself to workout or somthing/ im not even trying to quit just get my tolerance down so ill have more fun for cheaper yea yea

i've never experienced a tolerance from marijuana and i have been smoking it about 3-5 times a week for 6 years

Does it ever go away completely, no. Your experience will always change the high that you get and how you handle it.

That's why no high is ever like your first high.

I've found this to be true as well. The difference between three days and two weeks is pretty negligible to me. The only real difference is that tolerance takes a little bit longer to crawl back the longer you waited.

If you're too lazy to take a break, you could always put away 6 or 8 beers and then take a few huge bong rips. That always adds a good amount of color to the situation in my experience, plus if you like good beer nothing tastes better when you're high. If you drink and smoke regularly enough you probably won't even throw up! ;)

I used to smoke an average of 15 times a day every day.

Since i have lost my job (and thus not able to buy weed) i only get to smoke with my parents now.. which is once a day (2 fat joints between 4 people).

Smoking once a day has SIGNIFICANTLY lowered my tolerance.. Its like i smoke the same amount each day (and only once a day) but i get higher EVERY day.. Its great...prolly wont last long as my tolerance equals itself out haha, but its fun :D

Like a lot of people have said, for me it seems to go way down after a couple weeks. But if I go back to smoking alot every day, it only takes a couple days to be right back where you started.

i find that 1 day without smoking will reduce me down to a 8
3 days and im a 4
a week and im a 1
a month and im a 0

I've found that if you take a good few weeks off your tolerance stays low for awhile. I should say that I really only like taking 1 to 2 hits of really good stuff nowadays. I don't know how I used to be able to smoke bowl after bowl or blunt after blunt. I have been smoking in some form (daily to once in awhile) for around 10 years.

Most of the people I know that have been smoking for a long time cut back on their usage and the amount they puff when they do smoke as they age. I think this is because life doesn't allow you to be constantly stoned when you are in the "adult" world.

to me it always feels like everytime i take a break the first smoke is amazing but my tolerance comes back faster each time.

i agree. i take week breaks sometimes, and my first smoke it also amazing but the second is back to where i was... thats why i only smoke once a week lol

i used to smoke daily and when i took a months break and smoked again i got maaad high.. i also stopped smoking for 2 years about 4 years ago, and when i started smoking again i got mad high, now i smoke rarely and if its strong weed i can get really high of a few tokes, hash i can smoke quite a lot and still be functional (which is why i prefer some nice mellow afgan hash), but when i smoke ganja i can't concentrate or work or read anything serious for a good few hours, which is fine if i'm just hangin with friends, but i can't smoke a weed spliff before work in the morning and go about my day as if nothing had affected me ...
