Best Drugs for Hangover

My Remedy Is:

2x Vitamin B Compound Strong Tablets
3X 100mg Thiamine Tablets
1X 20mg Famotidine
1X 300/50mg Aspirin/Caffeine Tablet
1X Ginger Capsule unsure of dose

It's more what you drink BEFORE the hangover. Plain water, electrolyte drinks and fresh orange juice I've all found good to have in between my drinks to prevent a really bad hangover.

Once you've got one though, especially with an upset stomach / nausea, then plain boiled rice, dry white bread, banana, live yoghurt, grated apple are all good. Fresh (not canned) pineapple has an enzyme that helps with feeling sick. If you haven't got electrolytes then a good way of replenishing salts and sugars is salt crackers and flat cola (flat because the fizziness irritates the stomach further). And of course good old Alka-Seltzer is a useful stand-by.

This isn't the safest option, especially not if you're going to keep drinking the next day, but I found a few Fioricet* to be a pretty ideal hangover cure.

* = butalbital 50mg / APAP 300mg / caffeine 40mg

Throwing up is really good. Empties the stomach and allows you to start again.

Rather than leave the stomach acid just sitting there

I've seen a lot of mention of some type of opioid and I'm sure that would work.
A more easily obtained remedy and one which gives a minimal high (at light doses) would be Kratom.
I take about 1/2 what I would take to "get a buzz". Since I only take Kratom occasionally, and usually to get work done, that's not a lot.
If you have no tolerance, try just a gram and see what happens. Maybe even 1/2 gram or less. I usually use 1/8 teaspoon for this purpose.
If found that to be surprisingly effective at hugely taking the edge off a hangover without much in the way of noticeable CNS effects.

Of course, water is well known. Stop drinking a little before bedtime and get a big glass of water.
If you drink just water for a while, you will segue into a hangover right then.
If you drink water for an hour or so and go to bed just when you are beginning to feel "off", it will make a big dent in the hangover without being too much of a drag.

Salt and water.

I once had a hangover that lasted all day even though I was drinking water. Wondered why I was so fkkked. Turns out I needed electrolytes as well as just fluid. That would have worked

Soda or fizzy juice also is good

Straight water for sure, and make sure you eat before you drink. A hangover is just really bad dehydration.

Also note that clearer color liquors like vodka have less of a propensity to cause a hangover, than dark coloured rums and bourbons. Just like white wine is easier on you, and just like lite beer is less likely to fuck your head up than an IPA.

I believe the darker alcohols have more things called tannins, that make the side effect worse. That's why I've started avoiding them completely, if I ever do drink.

Well water is a good place to start. Some people drink Gatorade, some people drink monster or red bull, some people drink coffee, it all depends on what works for you.

Vodka and 190, et all, are distilled to 190 proof whereas Bourbons and such are distilled to no higher than 160 proof. This leaves less congeners in the vodka. Congeners give flavor, but also are responsible for part of the hangover.

Well made brown whiskey will have more congeners which give flavor and less that produce a hangover. Cheaper brown whiskey will have more hangover producing congeners.

But, Vodka does indeed have the least. Poor Vodka can fit some in there, though. And prolly methanol mostly. But, yeah, decent Vodka gives less of a hangover.
Personally, I value flavor though. Just get at least middle shelf stuff.

Some congeners

Just drank all weekend…it’s Sunday night, I’ve got a pretty decent amount of herbal and oharma.. Any thing I should be doing tomorrow to get good sleep tonight?
