You really like Gorgoroth with Gaahl in it?
I'm not joking here but Hat & Pest were the best that band had, nobody can touch Hat & Pest is a very close 2nd. When Pest left the band lost something very "Norwegian" about them.

The first few albums sit right up there with Burzum for that Norwegian sound, they went downhill very quickly imho.
That vocal by Hat is something else, it sounds like some Evil Witch in the Forest eating Children & Pet Dogs.






To my ears THIS is Norwegian Black Metal 101, it should have been recorded on the top of Floyen, Bergen in the middle of January.
