I'm not sure people look in this thread but I'm just watching the last Jools Holland. I managed to miss all of them apart from this one.

 
Honestly, Boiler Room sets get so much shit it's crazy. Many, many quality sets of many, many styles up on there.

They are fucking amazing and a great concept - one of the few genuine innovations in dance music in a long time and the scenes best direct use of the web. As a saddo I have gotten off on watching vids from events since I was a teenager (I spent years watching the Triple X vids of the hardcore showcases when still too young to go out) and since Rapture TV's fantastic live coverage of club nights and events in 2001, the standard of videos on the net is perfect, in a different league to the camcorder jobs from Pandemonium et al. back in the early 90's, but are still the same thing, just perfected.

The Boiler Room concept is a genuine next level thing though and thanks to the trainspotter POV of the jocks it is the closest one can get to having professional selectors play in their home. I cannot understand why anyone who loves electronic club music would have a problem with them, just as I don't get how those that claim to be part of the scene would hate on anything. Dealing with twats in a nightspot has always been an occupational hazard but the superiority element I just don't get and never have.
