Positive Exercise 4 Health, Mental Health and Addiction vs. Pure & Free

went for a run, first time in weeks. would like to create this as a habit and replace it with my previous cig addiction.

^ right on dude. i'm on day two of no smoking (reefer) if i don't exercise in the morning my day feels so off

Just got back from my third workout session since I started back up again. My first one was 8 days ago and somehow my abs are STILL fairly sore from doing situps on the reclining bench with a 45 pound weight on my chest, crazy. But it went smoothly even though I'd fairly tired (physically) today after Halloween partying.

After swimming last Tuesday I tried to work out just to see what if I could make a routine out of that as well, since I woke up next day I have a backache and it’s killing me.

I can only lay down or sit, when I walk it hurts and I don’t have remember doing anything that could have led to this. I am taking the rest of the week off and see how it goes. I can’t take painkillers so I am taking tylenol and an anti inflammatory every 12 hours, a pretty mild one. Oh well. I guess I am too old for this :\

^ Feel better Erikmen! Take your time to heal and recover.

I ran for an hour. Felt good actually. I had some extra energy. Burned a lot of calories.

I woke up in a decent time so I can swim for 1 full hour. Here is almost 6h35.

Gonna go work out today I think... I'm feeling pretty tired though and it's raining very hard and is supposed to be raining and storming most of the day. But I didn't go yesterday because I barely slept the night before. Hmm...

I did go, and the workout was great. Right about 5:00 though, I got really tired... then had band practice. I'm so ready to get in bed... right after I eat this bratwurst.

^ That’s great when you feel like you’ll be sleeping well.

It feels good when it happens to me, and I noticed that the exercises in the water relaxes me, especially if I do it in the morning. I feel energized to work and have had great nights of sleep.

Today was the third day in a row at the gym, hooray me. :) I did 20 minutes of relatively intense cardio plus full body weight exercises with dumbbells mostly, 2 days ago, then yesterday I gave my muscles a rest but did 30 minutes of cardio, and then today I did the same thing as 2 days ago. :) Everything is already so much easier. Granted, I took about 8 months off but before that I had gotten in good shape for a couple of years, so it's not too hard for me to get back to where I was, but I'm already 95% of the way back to where I left off. I'm not running out of breath really for anything lately, which is cool. :) Sleeping and waking up are easier, and I feel steady all throughout the day in terms of emotions. Cool!

Yes, cool! :) I admire your enthusiasm. I guess I need some of that.

When I started swimming almost every day, this instructor inconveniently said that it was a pity that I was the I had the profile of someone that wouldn't be doing that i6 months later. Like that, out of the blue. I hate to admit he was right but had always wondered why he said that to me.

So I made commitment with myself that I would always swim, maybe not every day but definitely every week. I need that to clear my mind.

Wow, that's not a very professional/nice thing to say. Weird. :\

Woke up. Drank 2 beers. Did some incline bench press. I went up 5 pounds on my lift ^_^

I need some outdoor cardio training tips for cold and slippery weather (without snow).

I have been going on to gym three times a week and four times a week I train at home so my muscles are building up but my cardio isn’t keeping up.

What to do before I can go skating or skiing?

I hate running or biking at gym.

Yeah gym cardio isn't the best, but I find the ellipticals to be alright, it's what I do (when I'm not going on a mountain hike anyway which is infinitely better). The elliptical is so low impact on your joints which I like since I'm 34 and starting to feel that shit. I just try to get my heart rate to around 150 and keep it there for 20-30 minutes, depending on whether I did weight stuff that day too. It's not bad man, put on some music and it's just an opportunity to listen to music and get in better shape.

If it's slippery, running isn't gonna be good probably. Do you have hiking opportunities where you live? My favorite exercise is a good, strenuous hike in the mountains.

You can do stuff (indoors or outdoors) like jumping jacks, calisthenics, etc. There are things you can do, you should look it up if you're not open to using gym cardio equipment. Loads of stuff you can do at home.

getting pumped up right now with some rap musics. then im gonna lift for a few hours

I'm a little hungover today (not bad, just feel a little tired and fuzzy), so motivation is a little harder but I bet when I take this pre-workout supplement all that caffeine is gonna make it a little easier. :) I think I'll do that real soon, it's about lunch break time. I usually go work out at lunch time so I can do it in the middle of the work day when it's easiest to be motivated.
