I assume you meant NAIVE one.
Mycophile regularly takes days off from kratom according to his posts.
Mycophile: I have zero explanation for why you felt sober after a second redose of 16g. Same thing happens to me sometimes. For example, yesterday I took 6g and enjoyed the effects. After about 2 hours I decided to take another 6 grams. When I kicked in, it felt like I went from being high from the first dose to being sober suddenly.
I can't explain other than to say I was probably still high but just wasn't able to distinguish the effects anymore. Why? No clue.
Yeah, gmlifer is not correct about me forgetting what high feels like cause I often go several days without dosing.
IMO if I don't FEEL high than I am NOT high...Period.
Kratom is a very unusual drug and I don't think it's impossible there could be some unusual mechanism where too much in your system somehow can equal no longer feeling high.
I mean in general my euphoria is not as strong as it had been before because my tolerance is getting so high, and that makes sense of course, but I generally think that that should just mean that dosing higher would equal just as good or strong a high, but that's not ALWAYS the case.
Right now I am on 15grams which is a normal dose for me, and while I AM high, I am nowhere near as euphoric as I often am.
But last weekend I was very high off of the same doses, so I don't believe that all that much could have changed in a week as far as my tolerance or any misunderstood mechanisms going on in my body.
Can anyone think of ANY other mind altering drug where taking TOO much can equal feeling sober again??
There MUST be at least one we can think of.
As we all know, Kratom has 29 alkaloids and some of them probably work at cross purposes.
Like there are certain alkaloids I've heard which can calm you down in a direct attempt to temper the stimulant alkaloids so that you are less likely to have a seizure or have your heart rate go to a dangerous level.
And I generally seek out a stimulant high, so who knows, maybe I took so much that my body reacted to the Kratom by making use of the sedative alkaloids to temper and cancel out the stimulant effects so that I wouldn't be at a dangerous level of stimulation?? (Not that I believe it can get dangerous...just trying to make reason of this??)
I have heard people mention that many of the alkaloids work in opposition to eachother, kind of like who the L-Theanine in tea works to calm one from the stimulant effects of the tea (As we know, Kratom is also related to both Green Tea and Coffee, but I am not sure if it actually has caffeine or L-Theanine in it, I don't think it does have caffeine).
But I am SURE there MUST be a substance out there that gets you high where if you take too much you no longer feel high.
Not sure what it could be, but I just have a strong feeling there's on out there, and if we can figure out what it is maybe we can figure out why this happens.
And even in those cases where I won't necessarily COMPLETELY stop getting high, there have been several times I've been high but those that another 2 grams might get me in a better place, and then after I took them it was TOO much and I started getting dysphoric and ruined my high...hence...probably a Kratom overdose.
I can only assume that that is basically what I did again...and I DID in fact start feeling dizzy and probably getting what most would call "the eye wobbles" before my high just ended.
The only difference is that in those other times where I just took 2 grams too many I started actually feeling BAD and overly sedated, but there were still SOME remnants of the good high left over.
In this case, first there was some strong dizziness, and then just NOTHING altogether, like I'd dosed myself COMPLETELY sober.
It was definitely a Kratom overdose for sure, but why it resulted in only dysphoria AT FIRST and then NOTHING for hours later...I can only guess.
One thing I DID notice though...is that once MOST of it had worn off except a few grams (I kept re-dosing so at one point late at night MOST had worn off except like 5 grams) THEN for about 45 mins I WAS just a little bit high before it wore off.
This would perhaps point towards this idea that too high a dosage can cancel itself out, but that a lower dosage would have felt nice, and that maybe my high returned for a bit because some of the alkaloids wore off.
I am going to believe that for WHATEVER reason this is what occurred.
I'm going to post this on Reddit and see what those guys have to say about it.
Kratom is certainly a mysterious substance, and with so many alkaloids that work together in odd ways, I think it is possible that you could dose yourself sober.
Maybe the moral of the story is: SOMETIMES less is more.
At WORST you may get dysphoria and no longer be high if you take too much, or at best maybe this could happen again: dosing yourself sober.
Better to take a lower amount than you think you need and see how you feel and then take more.
But if anyone here can think of another drug where you can "dose yourself sober" I'd be interested in hearing about it so maybe we can compare the mechanisms and figure out how or why this could happen.
Yea mycophile does tend to write long posts but he doesn't ramble on like a tweaker IMO. If I had to guess, I think his posts come across as very serious but from a place of anxiety and maybe of OCD. I'm not trying to be mean, mycophile, I respect and care about you . I've just noticed that Mycophile has a very unique writing style. I can usually recognize his posts from his writing style without having to look at the name.

I've been taking kratom regularly lately whereas I only used to use it sporadically. I've noticed a bit of a reverse tolerance... I seem to be enjoying smaller doses. Maybe I've just become more used to the effects and now know what to look for, I don't know. I'm really falling in love with the stuff (more than I already was before).
My only complaint is that I consistently get hungry when the high kicks in. Food even tastes better, almost like on marijuana. Eating feels good but there is no satisfaction when I do eat... I can eat a ton and still feel very hungry. I'm gonna have to be careful not to eat too much.. I really don't want to put on any weight.
Also, I believe there is another petition going around. I don't remember where I saw it or the exact details but if memory serves me correctly it was a petition intended to be given to the Trump administration near the end of January. A bunch of signatures may not make much of a difference but it can't hurt. I'm gonna look it into it today.
I've been doing what I can for kratom, and will continue doing so, and I hope many of you do as well. Long live kratom (hopefully).
I have recently started to look into kramtom for pain. However, saying i am confused would be the understatement of the century. I have read that red bali is the most opiod like. I have also read that the DEA report warns that commerically available kramtom can be laced with RCs. How does one ensure that one's source is not contaminated? Or for that matter that the label on the bag is the right one ( as far as type)? Thanks

When I first started taking kratom, I had the exact same issue with eating food. That effect seems to have worn off though. I think most people have the oppossite issue with kratom(eating too little), so I'm glad I'm not the only one!
As for the reverse tolerance, I think it's partly due to developing a dependence. For example, caffeine does very little to improve cognitive performance in non-tolerant individuals, but it does improve performance in tolerant individuals. Basically, caffeine doesn't do a whole lot, but if you're dependent on it, taking it will bring you out of a WD state so that your cognitive performance improveves. Something similar might be happening with kratom, but I could be wrong.
My friends who don't have any mental or physical health issues don't really feel kratom, and they need a lot to notice anything. A couple of my friends who had depression or pain issues loved it at pretty low doses. I think people who have issues that kratom can treat will naturally be more sensitive to it, and if you're getting to the point of physical dependence, you might be naturally sensitizing yourself to it's effects.
Just some thoughts
Do your research and find a trusted source
This is getting borderline sourcing, which is against the rulesHow does one find a trusted source? reviews can be bought or faked. the net is full of kramtom sellers all claiming to be trused sources. I don't know what to look for.
I would go to another forum such as <snip> if you're going to ask these questions. We don't allow any sourcing here, like kleinerkiffer said
