Can MDMA make you hallucinate?

I've never experienced it, but watching PTSD patients talking on video on MDMA in the beginning of therapy (Was on that show Doctors, that woman who participated in MAPS study). I also think I've read or seen somebody else give descriptions that gave the impression that they saw ferries, angels or something like that.

I have had that color hypnotizing stuff, where the beautiful colors just blow you away, and sigh has been impacted. I have *never* hallucinated.

I have not taken doses over 135 mg, and my sweet spot is 125 mg to get good effect and little side effects. Perhaps I should go a little bit up, I'm just not sure what can happen if I do.


Can somebody enlighten me, please?
 
Yes, I had a bad experience after staying up all night taking about a gram and two pills over an 18 hour period (stupid I know). My boyfriend's face turned into a black mask and he looked like a demon, it was terrifying...I don't recommend trying to get to that point! I have also spoken to someone who had hallucinated in a club without taking so much, he also kept seeing people with masks on, he was very creeped out!
 
This is not a good reason to increase your dose. Yes, MDMA can cause psychedelic visuals at high doses, but if that's what you're after then you should just use a different drug.

AT very high doses a significant amount is metabolized to MDA - a psychedlic

The action on 5HT2 receptors by MDMA at high doses is also psychedlic
 
I get minor visuals every time and at high doses I experience mescaline like visuals, not to the same degree as mescaline but then again Ive had relatively strong doses of mescaline that didnt produce much in the way of visuals.

Psychedelics can manifest in all sorts of ways. I no longer expect crazy visuals from psychs and if I have strong visuals with MDMA I am not surprised. Mixing it with weed greatly increases the visuals for me.
 
After a few hours on MDMA -especially with repeated doses- vision can become intensely altered. I've heard it described as looking through "a shattered windscreen" or an "electric field". I once had a friend ask why I'd taken off my "big yellow sunglasses"? I replied "you mean those big yellow novelty ones?" and he was like "yeah". I told him that I'd never owned such a such a pair of sunglasses and if I had, I definitely wouldn't have taken them off.

Pretty sure that stuff was MDA, which I've hallucinated on several times, but not in an LSD kind of way where the shadows of my surroundings warp and breathe with an overlay of kaleido-patterns containing pareidolic imagery, no. On MDA, I see stuff that simply isn't there. Check out the film clip to The Streets- Weak Become Heroes. He sees his water bottles as liquid blue people dancing on his table.. Pretty good depiction I think haha
 
Yep, I took a very large dose a couple of years ago (1 1/2 half pill without waiting), and I felt like I was at home trying to grab a glass of water from my dinner table. And I moved my hands as if the glass was actually there, and I tried to grab it. Never again, it was not fun. (blackouts, brain zaps, awful experience).
 
Yep it can. And for some people (like me) these hallucinations can be insanely vivid and intense. I have a ton of experience with psychedelics but the MDMA visuals to this day remain one of the most awe-inspiring I've ever had. For most people it means they have taken a bit too much though. I enjoy them very much personally but I start to get hallucinations at around 140mg or something

Oh and weed greatly amplifies the psychedelia. So does redosing
 
MDMA can cause stimulant psychosis and dopaminergic hallucinations typical of monamine releasing agents, as well, keep that in mind. Just because it has high affinity for serotonergic activity does not mean it it isn't dopaminergic and noradrenergic, as well. MDMA and MDA are both potent VMAT inhibitors and TAAR1 agonists, like any other amphetamines.
 
Yes, it's possible, i don't take MDMA frequently but last 2 times i had hallucinations , it's was awesome, it was in a rave and people faces kept changing like i look to their faces then it suddenly changes with the light , also people became fat suddenly lol that was funny, though my freind took the same dose as me and same pill, but he didnt hallucinate i think it depends on the person and the tolerance , don't take higher dose to get it though, first time I tripped on molly was 1 and a half pill, second was just 1 and it was more awesome
The pill was strong thow, it had 210mg i think
