What's your set and setting prep?

What do you guys do before you trip as far as set/setting goes?

One of my favorite parts of taking Acid is retreating to my "trip nest". Both the comforts themselves and the act of preparing them put me in a great state of mind to fly to the stars while knowing I'm safe.

My partner and I generally stock up on Gatorade and hard candies. Then we drag everything comfy into the living room (giant two-person fluffy bean bag bought off Amazon = best thing ever) and block out the windows in the bedroom in case we decide light isn't fun anymore. We walk the dog and put everything for her dinner and later walks out in plain view. We prep a playlist and charge the speakers, and we put our light toys (glove sets, light show machines) in one place. I find putting everything I MIGHT want later into easily-accessible groups feels like magic when I'm tripping, think of something I want, and then realize it's actually right there, haha. Once we're all prepped, we usually take our tabs and go for a little walk in the nearby park until it's time to go back to the nest.

I've never had a challenging trip. They've all been very positive, spiritual experiences, which have felt very safe. I definitely attribute that to prepping.

I usually horde food by my bed and set up a bunch of light toys all over my room

Cut my finger nails.
Call my kids and tell them I love them
Make the bed with clean sheets
If I'm camping ensure the gas stove is connected, glow bracelets are placed around the guy ropes and the fire is built

Before I embark on any trip what so ever I always clean my room. I find if my room isn't clean then I'll be spending time cleaning during my trip. I like to eat something before I drop as well since I tend to feel nausea if I eat during the come-up or peak. I try to make sure my life is in order. This could be by making sure all my homework is finished or semi finished ha or even something simple like telling loved ones I love them. Also, I make sure my phone is fully charged and that I have a backpack full of survival essentials (water, snacks, etc.) I always make my way outside for a number of reasons so I liked to be prepared. This one time I wanted to go outside but I ended up getting stuck in a loop searching for my damn headphones that was such a drag. Oh and a funny thing I pray to the Lord if I intend to drop a high dose. In all truthfulness I do a lot to prepare myself for a trip but I always miss a thing or two. Sometimes I do no prep what so ever because I am a daredevil so I'll just wing it %)

I get out of bed nice and early and have a light breakfast, afterwards I usually go back upstairs and give the room I trip in a rough cleaning. Then I have a nice shower, clean myself from top to bottom. When I'm done I'll usually start looking for a movie I can watch while coming up and drop my dose around 10am. I make sure to have some bottles of water, my smoking kit and a fully charged bluetooth speaker at hand.

Most of the time I'll turn on some colored lamps and the music and wait out the first effects on reddit just wasting some time. When I feel the first tingles I'll usually put on my movie or show and watch it.
After the come up has settled I evaluate my current intoxication and based on that choose whether i'll go outside, meet some friends, or spend my time inside if I'm peaking too hard to have a small convo :p

This way I've never had a bad trip (I didn't expect, lol) :)

Glow bracelets around the guide ropes is genius.

It's genius until 3am at a doof when they suddenly attract a gaggle of tripping punters outside your tent, marvelling at its wonder so loudly that you have to spray water at them to shoo them away ;)

Last time I did this:

Packed a backpack with snack foods and drinks so my partner and I could go on a hike, then when we got back in the evening we went to the jaccuzi with towels, glow sticks, and a portable speaker for music.

Ive tried in a variety of settings but the one i find to best the most comfortable, fun, and rewarding is with a small group of close friends at a house with maybe a couple adventures to a nature trail, beach, park or something.

I find tripping in the same place the whole time turns into a repetitive loop.
for example me and 2 other friends spent majority of a shroom trip in a bedroom. We had a good time but the second half of the trip became less interesting because the room became an endless loop of the same scenery.

i feel keeping the senses active with a changing environment or setting keeps the trip flowing by freshly developing more and more.

Seems like a great time

Music. WHITE RABBIT! ;) A blanket if using psychedelic outdoors. Definitely not a bathtub full of water, eventhough I've done that too. If you're talking about dissociatives, remove anything you could possibly hurt yourself with.

I used to fast, meditate, juggle my pain drugs, (dull a trip too much but then have to put up with pain) and have a supply of comedies, spiritual and philosophical talks/videos. I now skip the fasting but pretty much do the rest but with the now compulsory fully charged and loaded with music smart phone and headphones, (plus back up pair), and I roll several joints. If I am talking higher doses I make sure I have a benzo ready in case things get too uncomfortable.

I tend to trip at home so have a bit of freedom to wander about downstairs and in the garden, (just need to be on the quiet side). It is great to get out in the garden as dawn is coming or even better on a really clear starry night.

It was one of my best trips, I'm definitely going to repeat the experience at the next chance I get. I forgot to mention that our hike was timed to take us to the beach just as the sun was going down. %)

Ahahaha gotta love the doof the doof shenanigans though, unless you gotta sleep cuz of driving :/

either in my room, a house or in close to nature.

the music has to be prepped, playlists sorted, food acquired, weed, benzos and good people.

i like to have eaten well, and have water to drink.

if i'm in my room i'll need headphones and my vaporizer charged. that's about it really :).

The most important preparation is making sure that I have enough time to enjoy the substance which I am imbibing. I plan ahead to see which days are possible and generally choose the drug that fits the timeslot.
On the day, it's all about cleaning out my vaporiser and loading with weed and then making sure the music is ready. I don't go for a set playlist: I change the music to match the requirements. During a fairly rough comeup on DOC for example, I switched to the Bach Cello suites as I find it the perfect music for relaxing.

Almost none. Just make sure I don't have work or plans to see family.

I have never had what I would call a bad trip. I've been in a bad mood and dropped acid in big cities in public and it went fine (lucky I didn't encounter cops I suppose.)

Timothy Leary invented that set and setting shit, he was a fraud and a charlatan.

cosign. I don't like to trip before work even if its the next day. did once and spent the whole trip dreading the fact I had to go into work tomorrow.

If I know I have to go into the office the following day then I'll tend to take a shorter duration trip; 4-HO-MET for example. I guess that's the advantage of having a good stock of different psychedelics! If I am away on business over a weekend, then I will go for what is, to me, the ultimate trip: DOC.
I'm lucky enough to have a job where I work from home most of the time and it is project based. Therefore I can complete some work ahead of time and clear days during the week for tripping. All those years spent learning computer languages; little did I realise that it was all one giant preparation for trips!
