For what it's worth you poms and euro's really do get good value for your pills. I remember a friend of mine who was on a working holiday in the UK was at a festival and told a dealer he would buy him a drink from the bar in exchange for a pill and the dealers friends were laughing at this naive aussie as the price of drinks at this music festival were quite overpriced and expensive compared to how much pills were going for at the time. Mind you this was about ten years ago so i can't remember how much the exact amount a drink was but in the land down under a pill goes for twice the price of a Smirnoff vodka at a nightclub.

Also is it true there is a lot of negative stigma towards even occasional recreational stim users in the UK? I have no intention of going to the UK for a short drug taking holiday but it always amazed me how different the cost of using drugs were in the northern hemisphere compare to Australia. Not to disagree but it's a small minority in Aus that gives ice users a bad reputation. The mostly Conservative media really over does and hypes up the issue. I've meet many ice users (i'd like to include myself) who were occasional ice users who acted respectable, used the drug to have a fun night and for the most part knew their own limits and didn't end up king hitting random strangers on the city streets. I do know ice is a very addictive drug and hard core users can go weeks without sleep before they snap out and shit gets out of control quick but for what i would call one night users who take ice on a recreational occasional weekend it's no different to taking the pills that were round Melbourne clubs back in the late 90's to mid 2000's that were basically made of pure speed and if you over did things and thought they were MDMA and took 4 or 5 pills in a night you would have a 3-4 day stint without sleep.

It was discussed on the Aus DD but the ice epidemic was a media beat up just like heroin abuse was in 90's. The Australian media barely mentions heroin these days but the boarder control authorities still seize smack coming into the country all the time so there must be some so called junkie scumbags left. I'm not saying everything is fine and dandy in Australian cities but we haven't got to the stage the social anarchy is one step away from drug abuse. Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are still rather safe compared to overseas cities. Yeah i know bad shit does happen but i don't think and this is my opinion that Australian Cities have not gone down the toilet just yet.

Yeah i suspect you got your $80 point of ice around the time the price of ice really spiked for some unknown reason in Melbourne and users were typically paying up to $100 per point which was a crazy price to pay if you wanted to smoke and not use the needle. This period was around 8-10 years ago and during this time i got pills that for another unknown reason went down from the standard price of $35 per pill to 20-25 a pop. As well during this time i was a heroin smoker who was a chipper not a addict and i was paying $50 per point of China white smack and also able to get 5 points for a even $200. Currently Ice dealers are a lot more honest these days and the price per point as gone back to the Australian average of $50. This was the same price meth users i meet in clubs back in the early 2000's were paying. The price per gram was $400 but people with good contacts can get a 1.7 for 500-550. Naturally you will be dealing with some serious characters to get a 1.7 that cheap and those amounts are way out of my personal league.

P.S to the mods if those amounts are too much to be mentioned feel free to edit.

Yeah that makes sense. You didn't happen to be in a pub in St Kilda drinking when you scored the point? The backpackers drinking in the affluent inner south east suburbs of Melbourne all ways pay top dollar for their pills or gear. To be fair in Christmas of 2014 i was waiting for a train at a city loop station at 9am in the Melbourne CBD and i ran into a Ice user who looked a little rough and seeing as we were both obviously coming down from a night on the shards we struck up a conversation and while travelling on the train around the city loop i scored his remaining point and a bit of meth for $80 as i felt like a mid morning pick me up as well as thinking i could do with a second contact if my main guy has supply issue's. I gave the random guy my mobile number but he never got in contact with me. His ice was actually pretty good to smoke which was fortunate for a impulsive random deal. My regular dealer is a great guy who can be trusted and has never ripped me off. He charges the normal rate of 50 per point. My contact can't tell me if the shards are imports from southern China or cooked up in a local set up but the meth burns great and tastes lovely. I heard someone on the radio who said he was a daily user of meth that he can tell how potent the ice he is smoking by the colour or whiteness of the smoke which i think could be a bit of a exaggeration but who knows stranger things have happened. For me every time i have smoked Meth it has just worked and it left me buzzing and high.

The one question i have Dan88 when you scored the point how did you have the meth? If you score ice in a random night out it can be hard to organise a pipe or foil to smoke the ice and it is difficult to smoke the ice discreetly in a toilet of a pub or club if the venue security are not tolerant of drug use. Their are a few dance clubs in Melbourne that turn a blind eye to drug use in the venue's Bathroom cubicles, however many places are not cool with it at all. For me as someone who started to use meth as a home drug user i prefer to smoke it in the comfort of my own bedroom or mate's place and then head out into town.

Yes you would think Australia would be a smugglers paradise with the vast un-patrolled countryside however due to the lower population and smaller drug user base compared to North America or EU and the major importers / manufacturers who bring the drugs in are happy to not under cut each other and keep the status co normal and keep the prices at a consistent level. Make no mistake the logistical of getting drugs from Europe or South America to Australia is not easy. I think it simply comes down to that there is not as many drug traffickers attempting to import gear as other countries around the globe have.

The main advantages to living in Australia trying to cope with the expensive cost of drugs is that welfare is available if necessary and wages are high and the minimum wage is twice that of American minimum wage. Another positive is that Australia has a tax payer funded universal health care system which means those who are unlucky to get sick don't end up going broke trying to pay for medical treatment like what happens in The United States of America.

Yes ClemFandango you are right in describing the Vietnamese and Chinese having it down cold in supplying Australia's drugs as even with the threat of the death penalty hanging over drug traffickers heads Asia's major criminals work in strange ways and the big players have the right people paid off and operate effectively at getting contra-band across international boarders. If you look at the Aus DD drug bust thread in all the major drug importing bust's the Aus Federal Police make it's nearly always Asian National's that are arrested and i would say the 5-10 year jail sentences handed down to international drug smugglers by Australian Courts would not be a huge deterrent when considering how much profit could be netted for a successful drug import to a Major Australian city.
