that dress is absolutely lovely, PiP. i haven't seen valentino '13 yet, but that's because it's never in real HD. anyway, that's one of the nicest s/s rtw '13 dresses yet.

also, i just got Lula #15 with the right cover. i haven't really started it yet, but i will today and i am so excited.

ha, yeah valentino certainly is frustrating in that regard. i just don't understand why it isn't worth their while to make sure i see their beautiful whatnots in a pleasant resolution. there is Vogue Collections, which is certainly worth the 30 bucks. but not at all the same as the show being available to stream in high quality. it truly does have some effect on what design houses are my favorite. houses that better get their stuff out there obviously get more consideration.

got mah new teen vogue. there are these headphones in there that are kawaii as a fuck, but apparently this woman doesn't exist outside of teen vogue land. the editorial also had a nice new valentino dress in it. here's the shitty tumblr set.

lime green dress is valentino. blue one is chanel. purple one is gucci and wish i could find another picture of it because i want to see what it does besides the buttons.

Alexander Wang to take over at Balenciaga?!??!!?

The Nouvel Observateur and Cathy Horyn at the New York Times are reporting that Alexander Wang is a leading candidate to take over the creative directorship of Balenciaga. Horyn reports that "an announcement of his appointment could be made as early as next week, a Paris source with knowledge of the discussions said on Wednesday night." This has to be some kind of a joke, right? [NouvelObs, NYTimes]
Meanwhile, that was quick: just days after Christopher Kane and Donatella Versace announced the young, London-based designer would no longer be co-creative director of the Versus brand (an event that coincided with Kane's rumored status as a front-runner for the Balenciaga gig), Versace has announced it got itself another young, London-based designer to work on Versus. J.W. Anderson will be collaborating with Donatella Versace on a collection for the brand.

kiko is dressed up like pop barbie or katy perry in a "Call Me Maybe" music video. she wears plastic jewelry, plays with a prop phone, twirls her pigtails. Nylon goes all out; she even shows off her lollipop. plastic, flared sunglasses--which are where it's at now; beyonce has a pair too! the bow is good stuff. it's some nonsense, but all these videos are. like everything kiko does, cute...

i just finally saw blumarine and blugirl s/s '13 this morning.

it's not really fair to say so soon after only seeing each once, and i think the 2nd tier lines are inherently younger and therefor often have more of an immediate appeal. but at this moment, i like blugirl s/s '13 more than blumarine s/s '13. very david hamilton influenced. the hats are a direct reference...

i don't know about alexander wang. his label makes tee shirts and sunglasses and sneakers. i don't know. i don't know. Balenciaga must have had a reason to toss off the man who brought them back from the edge of total shittyness and made the brand respectable again and who was making some of the best clothes and replace him with the equivalent of a flashy teenager? some people say this is going to make Balenciaga more...accessible (100$ shirts?) and continues the appeal to younger, more urban women (kristen stewart & perfume, etc) but i don't know. we'll see. hope so. i'd buy a 100$ shirt.

she's like karlie in that she excels on the runway. for editorials, she's a little plain when compared with the best (i.e. dapnhe and lindsey). she does have this fair elfin creature thing going on, giving her a bit of the high fashion freaky. damn pretty. becoming one of my favorites...

i've never been able to snag any of this designer x target/h&m whatever, and honestly, it's probably not worth it for having to go to a mall. unless the next one is balenciaga or some shit, i'm giving up entirely on the whole idea. but i fucking love this necklace, way too bold to wear with anything else, but it's fucking awesome. and because it was a "guest designer" it was 50% off? or maybe because the margiela stuff was just way too high fashion for the hoards at h&m? i wish i had known that, i would have gotten that absolutely wild red dress that was there from like s/s 2009.
