Tips for amphetamine withdrawal?

I've been using amphetamines nonstop for about a month since my last break, and I need to go without for 10 days when I get my script filled. Any tips on how to make the next 10 days less torturous?

Exercise. Eat healthy and sleep alot, the sleep will be easy. It's always good to take breaks when using amps long term. Honestly use the time to help your body and mind recover as much as possible both for health reasons obviously and also because it will increase the effectiveness of amp.

I've been exercising and sleeping a LOT(walking 2-3 hours a day, sleeping 14-15), as for eating it's mostly been meat. Lots of meat. Protein is good right?

I've been down that road many times! It's already been stated, but exercise makes a worlds of difference! I'm not talking about walking but really hitting the weights and doing cardio. It speeds up recovery and helps produce dopamine again, naturally.

But are you talking in the short term or long term? I only need to go 8 days without, so I'm not interested in long term recovery tips, just ways to get me through the next week.

when i've been in amphetamine withdrawal i've found that supplements have actually helped me out quite a bit.

i would take vitamin b6 an hour before dosing l-tyrosine @ 2000mg and slowly titrate downwards.

l-glutamine for some reason also perked me up quite a bit, along with a high dose of omega fish oils.

^ That's really good advice.

Really I'd be reluctant to sleep too much. It is easy to go 12-16 hours during withdrawal periods, but it's not healthy nor is it productive. I believe the mind set of sleeping all day can worsen the stress during withdrawals.

Get caffeine in your system. Take advantage of energy supplements, carbohydrates and eat plenty of protein to rebuild lost tissue.

Fight off depression with productivity. Self discipline and control will be your allies in this situation. Do not let yourself get caught into pondering or questioning life. Work like you would have while on Amphetamine.

Remember feelings are chemicals only you experience. Actions are reality that effects everyone. Withdrawals are easier when your mind is busy focusing on something else.

ah yes i forgot to add - if you have access to all the above supplements, try and get ahold of some ZMA to take before bed time. it will help your tolerance levels and also may ease you to sleep, it also stops the bruxism from withdrawal i've found. its a good supplement to be taking if you take amphetamines anyway.

protein shakes are great - get ahold of one with creatine in it. i used cyclone (maximuscle) twice a day, once when i woke up and once in the afternoon and it boosted my energy levels loads. probably just from the nutrition i was getting that i had been lacking while binging on amphetamines.

5-htp also is great for a short period of time. for me it helped with the depression i suffered from the binging.

lots of sweeties also was good, also again probably due to the low blood sugar i'd induced from my amphetamine binge and my body actually getting back into the swing of things properly. lots of water too - keep hydrated as you would do normally.

what renz says is completely true as well. do NOT over sleep. it actually causes you to suffer more than you think - and makes you feel like shit when you wake up and throughout the day as well.

it's an expensive list of suppliments, but honestly they help you repair after amphetamine abuse much more than you think.

find something that stimulates your brain as well. brain training games are frustrating - but for some reason they also helped me through the withdrawal as i found myself engaging more in some kind of activity that is productive and challenging. don't let yourself get bored and in a bad mindset as that will further contribute to a low mood. remember that the withdrawals are only psychological - your mind is stronger than you believe and you can overcome it.

Yeah you just have to force yourself to do things. It's way more difficult to do than people think.

Amphetamine withdrawal is a complete cake walk compared to benzo or opiate withdrawal. At least you can sleep in amphetamine w/d.

That's really subjective. People commit suicide during amp w/d.

The drops some get of thinking they're God to a used condom is emotionally devastating.

For a lighter amp user, the lack of motivation is pretty terrible for the working person. Detrimental in that there is no will to work.

It really depends on the kind of person you are.

^Benzo wd can make you go completely insane and kill yourself a lot easier than amphetamine w/d.
Amp w/d really isn't that bad, its still a walk in the park compared to any GABAergic Withdrawals.

It varies person to person. I've had them all at one point. GHb withdrawal has always been the worst for me.

It's really not that important which is worse, they all suck. What comes up must come down.

GHB withdrawals are not as bad as pronounced to be, Its mainly the incorrect GBL stigma going around, and people receiving non-diluted GBL into their "Supposed liquid GHB".

GHB withdrawals are not near as bad and nasty as made out to be compared to Benzosm and Opioids. GHB withdrawals typically last 24-72 houts, peaking around 24-36 hours. ANd its usually over with completely in one week.

There's no need to minimize withdrawal that other people are going through. Regardless on how bad benzo withdrawal is, amphetamine withdrawal is unpleasant and highly depressing. Just because you've been shot, doesnt change the fact that a paper cut hurts. No one likes papercuts.

Although the feeling sucks, you just got to tough it out man. You cant feel good all the time life has ups and downs. Just embrace the fact that you need to feel like shit sometimes. But l-tyrosine and especially EXCERCISE will help alot.

Well.....treat yourself as if you are sick with a head cold and you need to take care of your body. Embrace your time into an amphetamine vacation. Be very nice to yourself, kind, nonjudegmental about your productivity, eat very well since your body will probably love u for taking care of it since you probably didn't feed it when u were on meds. I can't even stress enough on the "EXCERCISE " part. I know it's hard to be motivated but try to get coffee and red-bulls to get u going. Focus on what you have done right for the day instead of what you still need to do or haven't. Relax, chill and take a deep breath....The meds will come soon. Treat this as a vacation :)

Bupropion has shown to be extremely effective at treating amphetamine withdrawal, though you need a prescription for it.
