smoking heroin on foil, harm reduction questions

could someone give me a clear answer as to whether there is a poisonous chemical in tin or aluminium foil that needs to be burned away before smoking the heroin on it, also does it really matter if you use the dull or shiny side?

everyone i knows says the bags will be totally fucked if you smoke it on the shiny side but they cant offer an evidence to back their claims up
 
I cure my foil first by running the lighter over it on the dull side. (I don't have the info on why I don't use the shiny side. I just don't.)

I don't use foil that is nonstick. Hopefully you don't either.

I don't smoke often enough to feel the foil affecting my lungs.

But I like it. I'm glad I was shown it and taught how to use it by someone who had been using for a decade...

I think its bad for you too smoke of out foil, but i dont think theres anything poisonous about it. when i was younger in high school, the whole 9th grade smoke exclusively out of foil pipes, and nothing bad ever happened. thankfully by tenth grade we had moved on to bongs, glass bowls, bubblers, joints, and the best of all, big ol blunts.
 
well these answers seem to be the same as id already heard people saying what theyve been told to do but no real concrete evidence, dont get me wrong i appreciate the replies but i was looking for a more clear and concise answer as to whether poisonous fumes are released from the foil when heated.

tonight ive smoked on some unburned foil and it just tastes the same which makes me think theres no gas release?
 
smoking H is such a waste. If you don't like needles, just snort the shit. Trust me when I tell you that your wasting your money smoking it. More than have of it goes up in the air or sticks to the foil.
 
ive considered snorting a fair few times but im not sure how to do it safely, snorting H is pretty much unheard of where i live, its either smoked or jabbed so theres no-one to show me a safe dose or anything like that, im rather worried that id waste it too when i know i could smoke it well.

i would give it a go though if i understood safe practice
 
Guessing you're from England - UK smack (i.e. from Afghanistan) can't be snorted as far know. US gear is different and that difference enables it to be effective snorted.

Not too sure of the details though, maybe someone else who knows a bit more about it can confirm or dismiss my claims?
 
smoking from aluminum foil is safe. the only way it can hurt you is if you were to do it for like 10 yrs straight but i dont think youll do that. as for the shiny/dull side i cant help you there. how much dope do you smoke? and do you get it raw? gimme this and i can help you with the snorting question

edit; oh yeah, they dont make tin foil anymore as far as i know. but smoking TIN FOIL is very very toxic.

edit again; im sure you know this but keep the flame off the foil.

im pretty sure any herion can be snorted. black tr doesnt look too good to snort though, cause well, its not powder.
 
im in uk yeah, im not sure what you mean by raw but i get it as it comes, normally cut with something you can see the cut when youre smoking.

my use varies too, the stuff hasnt been to good recently after a drought so im using more than normal, ive had 4 bags today.

and i do normally touch the flame to the foil, the foil never ruptures or burns though so im ok yeah? or should i always make sure the flame doesnt touch?
 
I dont think its good to smoke heroin on foil that hasnt been burned. I did before (not sure if it was aluminum or tin) and got a really sore throat for like 2 days. I can now get prepared foil specially for smoking gear from a needle exchange place so I dont have to worry about it but I would always advise burning the bottom of the foil (make sure its touching it) and the tooter too before you smoke.

Doesnt matter whether you use dull or shiny side. I prefer putting gear on shiny side but thats just my preference :)
 
If your dope is sticky and can't be snorted easily you can dissolve it in a eyedrop bottle with a small amount of hot water. As soon as it dissolves tip your head back squirt a healthy dose in your nose and huff that shit down. I used to do this with black tar. Worked great until I moved up to the spike.
 
there hasn't been tin rolled in mills for decades . it's too valuable and not anywhere as flexible.
the reason for shiny side/dull side is simply due to the rolling mill process . there is no coating on either side - no reason to coat it.
it is one of the light metals and we can take enormous amounts of aluminum and iron before toxicity comes into play.
 
is there anyway to vaporize heroin like u do with meth or opium. all i do is IV oxy and dilaudid with microns and shoot dope, those are the only drugs i do, so this is just a random question. like could you use glass material like a pipe to avoid the harmful fumes of foil

For those of you who smoke heroin or anything off of foil, it is very dangerous. My daughter has burned her throat beyond repair and now breathes through a tube in her neck. She only smoked for one year and is 22 years old. The metal in the foil heats up and goes down with the smoke. It then burns the throat and voicebox even though the metal is expelled when you cough. Damage is done.SMOKING OF FOIL IS NOT SAFE.

Not sure if anyone answered the question about snorting tar. Tar from the US can very easily be snorted. There is two easy ways to do this.

For both methods this first part is for both. - Get a nasonex type spray bottle that allows you to spray shit in your nose. Empty / fully wash it out.

Method 1 -
Place a little warm water in it and add some tar (remember not too much liquid, don't want to have to use 25 sprays for a .1)
Then cap it and shake it vigorously (or even let it set and dissolve, but this is faster) then you can spray it directly in your nose.

Method 2 -
Cook it up like you would a shot. I would filter it with a cotton/micron filter and a needle then plunger down inside your bottle.
Crystal clear solution! Spray that shit up your nose son!

PS to everyone saying smoking on foil is harmful..yes its not GOOD for you but it has been proven time and time again that it doesn't get hot enough for you to actually be inhaling a dangerous amount of toxins/chemicals.

Just use the light bulb as a vaporizer and nothing gets wasted. The rest is a matter of absorption from the smoke. The powder for smoking is not 100% heroin and it's heroin freebase what's in it. That kind of heroin shouldn't be snorted because now that's a waste. It's called "no 3", I guess, it's a brownish tan powder, sometimes the lighter it is, the better, but the other time it's on the contrary. It's so easy to add an adulterant there, because dealers can buy it at the local supermarket.

Anyway, smoking on the foil guarantees losing a lot of material, besides you need more material so you can catch the smoke. Inhaling the smoke from the light bulb is much easier, the heroin drop moves too fast on the foil, and you salivate holding the pipe in your mouth. It needs a lot more technique but however good you're at it, you lose something. In case of light bulb, you get everything from it.
 
i don't get the "shouldn't be snorted" thing. i snorted UK gear for months before ever injecting, and then smoking. in order of highness from the same amount of b, i goes iv (duh), smoking, snorting. can smoke less than a point for like half an hour, you don't lose much unless you're really fucking bad at something that is really fucking simple. i would guess people who say that smoked it once or twice and didn't get the technique down.
