Login timed out while typing a long reply, once I log back in it brings me to a blank white screen. This has happened before. Happens all the time since the big update. Is there any way to get my post back?? I REALLY don't want to type it all back in. Normally I'd say fuck it and walk away, but this post was actually about an issue that's very personal that I've been wanting to talk to someone about for a while. Now that it's come up I've poured my heart out only to have it thrown away. wtf. Is there anything I can do?

EDIT: I have that blank screen after I tried to post and logged in saved in a different tab, so I'm still right there. I didn't leave and come back here to start a new post and just expect it to come back out of thin air...

all may not be lost. go back to the post to which you were responding and hit the
reply_small.gif
button.

when the reply window appears, look to the bottom left corner and you should see a button which says 'restore auto-saved content'. it looks like this:

click it and see what happens.

going forward, maybe get in the habit of, especially when writing long replies, just copying your reply once in a while? you can do it with two keypresses (in windows): <control><a><control><c>

<control><a> selects all text and <control><c> copies it to your clipboard.

Yeah I usually do that, but I wasn't paying too close attention. Also, I tried to go advanced, not just reply so who knows what happened with that. I'll go check it out

Hey, yeah it worked out just fine. I lost a little at the end but that's to be expected. Overall, it was pretty much all still there

Sometimes, when I'm on my iPad, I'll be in the middle of typing a post, and I'll accidentally hit the "previous thread/next thread" button because of the way the screen auto adjusts when the keyboard pops up. When that happens, I usually just hit the "back" button on the web browser. It brings me back and everything I just typed is still there, it happens a lot. But I've never tried it on my laptop because I typically only use the iPad.. just for future reference. I'm glad you got your post back, musta been a terrible feeling!
